Natacha Birds, a name like a poem. JB Martin, a French women's shoemaker celebrating its centenary this year. A beautiful story to launch the summer. Two worlds that complement each other perfectly, bringing a floral touch to the season. This year, JB Martin has put all its heart into creating two pairs, magnified by the flower-women of sweet Natacha. The result is a pump and an espadrille with a heel. A bold motif that embodies a vision of femininity that is both gentle and powerful. Flowers, like bodies before our eyes, merge into one. One inside the other, one with the other. Creations that turn femininity into an allegory and celebrate a century of women.
In a sketchbook, anything goes - drawing, collage, colour or just doodling. It's a living, intimate object, a companion that touches me deeply. With JB Martin I wanted to bring back this idea of sketching, of mixing lines and filled-in areas, so that the shoe itself became a living object, scribbled and unique through the positioning of the drawing. I wanted it to be as inspiring as a page in a notebook.
As she does on stage, Natacha Birds will take you along as she reveals a few keys to understanding her world. Birds is the name that Natacha uses to sign all her creations: illustrations, paintings and many other projects that swarm in her mind. Birds Birds Shop is the culmination of a journey, a path taken by Natacha where art plays a central role. An essential part. After studying art, Natacha went on to work as an illustrator, painter, D-A and web designer.
